A writer, actor, playwright, film producer, poet and comedian, Dallas Goldtooth is not just a man of many talents, he’s also kicking off an exciting lineup for the 2024-25 season of “Brainstorm: A speaker series to ignite conversation and curiosity.”
Presented by Teton County Library, the Jackson Hole News&Guide and Center for the Arts, with funding provided by Teton County Library Foundation and Friends, Goldtooth will present “Cowboy Indians, Indian Cowboys & How Not to Die on Camera.”
Complimentary tickets will be available through the Center Box Office, JHCenterForTheArts.org, beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16.
Goldtooth, of Dakota and Diné heritage, is most well-known for writing and acting in the groundbreaking FX series Reservation Dogs and is in the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ series “The Last Frontier.” He is also the co-creator of the Indigenous comedy group The 1491s, a climate change activist with his nonprofit the Indigenous Environmental Network, and has garnered large, dedicated social media followings.
From The Lone Ranger’s Tonto to a fictitious tribe on “Yellowstone,” Native Americans are a cornerstone of the “American West.” With a comedic approach, Goldtooth will discuss how these depictions of the Savage Warrior and the Vanishing Race have contributed to many of our contemporary issues in America.
As a globally recognized activist, leader and talent, event organizers said Goldtooth is the perfect speaker to launch a second successful season of the Brainstorm Speaker Series, which features trailblazers who are renowned in their fields and who are known for sparking ideas and inspiring conversation.
